DEMO Guide

DEMO, Scroll down to find your game for instructions...
_________________________________________________
If you are streaming PBBans, teach everyone on your server these two steps in recording a Demo: /record cheater and /stoprecord by putting a message on your server. Since PBBans accepts demo recordings, you can even have guests help you keep your server free of cheaters.

_________________________________________________

IMPORTANT NOTE:
You can NOT capture the Score Board or the Console, or PunkBuster's pb_plist using the in-game Demo record feature... please use a screen shot to capture these. Check out the XFire screen shot feature as these are automatically uploaded and available for every AntiCheat unit and HunterBean to see and download.

Why Use DEMO's: Demo's are great for someone to record their own game or record someone else's game while in spec because the resulting file sizes are very small, the video can be viewed at full screen and it shows all the smoke, action, sounds, that the player experienced. They are also good in that additional video capture programs can then record any specific highlights of the action.

The down side of demo's is that the person viewing the demo must have the game installed, they can't pause, stop or quit the demo when it is playing and they don't literally show cheats but they can be valuable in exposing someone who is cheating. Every gamer should know how to make a demo for their game. HackHunters will try and provide tutorials for each game in clear, step by step, easy to understand, and in plain english, instructions.

If you have any comments, please post, we may use your information to add to an existing post giving you the credit. If you have basic steps for a game you play, add them here, we'll modify them as required to meet our requirements for 'step by step...' instructions. Thanks.

_________________________________________________
NOTES: Demos give HackHunters the ability to view all the action of a spec'd player. Then we can make a separate video of only the relevant parts of the demo to be used as evidence against or for a suspect.

_________________________________________________
HOSTING A DEMO:
In order to link to a demo, you will have to upload it to a server that can host it, so others can link to it. Here are a few places where you can get your demo hosted:

www.wikiupload.com
www.badongo.com
www.yousendit.com
www.bigupload.com
www.Rapidshare.com, great for quickly emailing demo to info@hackhunters.com
www.yourfilehost.com

Be sure to zip the file first.

If you have a demo of a cheater, and you've filled out a REPORT A SUSPECT form, you can email us the demo and we will host it for you.

CALL OF DUTY 2 DEMO GUIDE:

RECORING THE DEMO:
• 1) Launch Game;
• 2) Enter Server;
• 3) Bring down console (press ~ on keyboard, the 'tilda' key is next to the #1 key, don't press shift when pressing the tilda key); Note that some servers might disable demo making ability... this is odd and we're not sure why any server would do this;
• 4) You should see a bar at the top of your screen where you can type in;
• 5) Type: /record me You don't have to call it 'me', note that there is a space between 'record' and 'me'
• 6) Press ENTER or RETURN on keyboard (Note: Macintosh you can press either, not sure for PC);
• 7) -not used-.
• 8.) When you are finished recording, type /stoprecord
• 9) The file is saved under your \Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\Main\demos directory as a .spd file.

PLAYING THE DEMO:
• 10) Launch your COD2 Multiplayer Game, do not 'Join' a game;
• 11) Below the 'Join' game button, down a bit, click on MODS;
• 12) Bring down console (press ~ on keyboard, the 'tilda' key is next to the #1 key, don't press shift when pressing the tilda key);
• 13) Type /demo me into the console text area. You'll notice that once you start typing the 'M' in ME, that a list will appear listing all names in the demo list that start with 'M'. This makes it really easy to recall what you named future demos as you really only have to remember the first letter;
• 14) After typing in the demo name, press ENTER OR RETURN on your keyboard.
• 15) The Demo recording will start playing. You will have to watch the entire demo before you can quit, stop or esc. With this in mind, you may want to limit the length of time you record demos. Note, to play back a demo you must be in the game menus - demos can't be played back while you're in-game.

OTHER OPTIONS: Source: http://www.tweakguides.com
Timedemo [0,1] - If set to 1, enables timedemo mode. Once a pre-recorded demo is played, the timedemo results are shown in the extended console, and the results are saved as a .csv file in your \Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\Main\demos directory.

cl_avidemo [0,1] - If set to 1, begins recording frames for a demo movie. These frames are stored in .tga format in your \Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\Main\screenshots folder. Note that enabling this option can severely slow down your system, and it can be disabled at any time by setting cl_avidemo back to 0.
UPLOADING YOUR DEMO:
• 1) Demo file sizes are very small making them very easy to e-mail to someone and share with others who have the game installed. Unlike other video capture programs, Demos allow one to see full screen, all the noises, smoke, etc. that is on the screen. If you have a demo of a suspect, first fill out our REPORT A SUSPECT form and e-mail us the demo to: info 'at' hackhunters.com

If you are streaming PBBans, teach everyone on your server these two steps in recording a Demo: /record cheater and /stoprecord by putting a message on your server. Since PBBans accepts demo recordings, you can even have guests help you keep your server free of cheaters.

_________________________________________________
RECORD & STOP RECORD:
• 1) Launch Game;
• 2) Enter Server;
• 3) Bring down console (press ~ on keyboard, the 'tilda' key is next to the #1 key, don't press shift when pressing the tilda key);
• 4) You should see a bar at the top of your screen where you can type in;
• 5) Type: /record me You don't have to call it 'me', note that there is a space between 'record' and 'me'
• 6) Press ENTER or RETURN on keyboard (Note: Macintosh you can press either, not sure for PC);
• 7) There should be a message in the lower left corner of your screen that says: RECORDING...
• 8.) When you are finished recording, type /stoprecord
• 9) Quit the game and return to your desktop

PUT DEMO RECORDING IN CORRECT FOLDER:
• 10) Open your 'C' Drive > Programs Folder > Activision Folder > Main Folder > Demo Folder;
• 11) Locate your 'ME' demo recording and drag it to your desktop;
• 12) Now backup and locate your MODS > ModWarfare folder, Open It;
• 13) In the ModWarfare folder, make a new folder called demo if there isn't one there;
• 14) Drag the 'me' demo from your desktop into the new 'demo' folder;

PLAYING THE DEMO:
Using a 3rd party Demo Player:
CYBOPAT is a tool for easy playing demos of game Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. You can use slowmotion, faster playing, freezing demo, toggle third person view and toggle view HUD info. (thanks |EAS|Kevin for the tip).

Playing the demo within the game:
• 15) Launch your COD4 Multiplayer Game, do not 'Join' a game;
• 16) Below the 'Join' game button, down a bit, click on MODS;
• 17) In MODS, select ModWarfare (notice this is the folder you put the demo in) and click LAUNCH;
• 1 After LAUNCH, you will notice that the name COD4 Modern Warfare has a red X through the 'ERN' of Modern. This means you are at the right place.
• 19) Bring down console (press ~ on keyboard, the 'tilda' key is next to the #1 key, don't press shift when pressing the tilda key);
• 20) Type /demo me into the console text area. You'll notice that once you start typing the 'M' in ME, that a list will appear listing all names in the demo list that start with 'M'. This makes it really easy to recall what you named future demos as you really only have to remember the first letter;
• 21) After typing in the demo name, press ENTER OR RETURN on your keyboard.
• 22) The Demo recording will start playing. You can stop playing a demo by typing /disconnect, otherwise you will have to watch the entire demo before you can quit, stop or esc. It is still good idea to limit the length of time you record demos as some may not know this 'stop' command.

UPLOADING YOUR DEMO:
• 1) Demo file sizes are very small making them very easy to e-mail to someone and share with others who have the game installed. Unlike other video capture programs, Demos allow one to see full screen, all the noises, smoke, etc. that is on the screen. A PLAYER FOR CALL OF DUTY 4:
(Additional information by Kevlar)

An easier way to watch demos is with the cybopat replay tool. The only time it won't work is when you are using a mod with other weapons than that is included in the cod4 game

CRYSIS DEMO GUIDE:
Under Construction

_________________________________________________
COMMAND CONSOLE ACCESS:
The Crysis command console can be opened or closed at any time during the game by pressing the '~' key (the key above TAB, or below ESC). The console provides a real-time method of accessing the CryEngine2 game engine and altering command variables dynamically.

HOW MANY COMMANDS CAN I USE?
By default, you are restricted to only a handful of console commands (12) ou can use which will work; entering any other valid commands will simply receive an error message. This 'restricted mode' can be permanently lifted by either using the con_restricted 0 command in the console, or by adding con_restricted=0 to your System.cfg file.

WHERE IS THE LIST OF COMMANDS?
You can also list commands in the console at any time by entering the first few letters of them and pressing the TAB key. For example entering r_ and pressing TAB will list all the console commands starting with r_.

HOW DO YOU TYPE IN A COMMAND?
To use a console command correctly, enter the command variable and then the value to assign to it. For example, to turn Motion Blur off using the command console, open the console and type the following, then press enter:

r_motionblur 0

_________________________________________________
SCREEN SHOTS:

r_GetScreenshot [0,1,2] - If this command is set to 1 or 2, it immediately takes a screenshot and places it in your \My Games\Crysis\ScreenShots directory. By default the F12 key is bound to this command, so if you wish to take a screenshot just press F12.

capture_file_format [jpg,bmp,tga,hdr] - Allows you to set the format for screen captures. The default is JPG.

e_screenshot [1,2,3] - There are a range of commands starting with e_screenshot that can be used to take a variety of types of screenshots in the game. You can use commands such as e_screenshot_file_format, e_screenshot_width and e_screenshot_height to set the parameters for the output of the screenshot. The default output folder is Screenshots found under your \Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Game\ directory.

_________________________________________________
FOLDER WHERE ALL 'CAPTURES' ARE STORED:
capture_folder [path] - Determines the path to which screen captures are made, can be specified manually, e.g. capture_folder C:\Temp. The default output folder is the \Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\CaptureOutput directory, created when you first capture something.

_________________________________________________

VIDEO CAPTURE:
capture_frames [0,1] - If set to 1, this begins continuous screen captures multiple times a second in the format specified by the capture_file_format variable, to the path specified by capture_folder. The default output folder is the \Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\CaptureOutput directory,

NOTE: at this time we are not sure if these 'continuous screen captures' can be played back within Crysis. If they are saved as individual screen shots, some video programs will allow you to 'create a video using individual frames'.

Re: DEMO, How to for Your GAME.

MEDAL OF HONOR DEMO GUIDE:

MOHAADemo v1.1 (PC Only)
MOHAADemo v2.0 can be found here; http://files.filefront.com/MoHAA+Dem.../fileinfo.html (PC Only)

We understand there to be many problems with this Demo Program including potential virus infections. Download at your own risk.

This is a patched MOHAA.EXE ( Medal of Honor:Allied Assault v1.11 US )
that lets you record and watch MOHAA Demos. It works like in other Q3
games:

*** RECORDING A DEMO ***
/record demoname

*** STOPPING RECORD ***
/stoprecord

*** PLAYING A DEMO ***
/playdemo demoname

_________________________________________________
Binding Record Keys:
Or you could just bind 2 keys of your choice in your unnamedsoldier.cfg file to make it really easy.
bind r "record"
bind s "stoprecord"

If you make more that one recording you will need to rename the file.

Or you could......
bind r "record 1"
bind p "record 2"
bind v "record 3"
etc, etc

_________________________________________________
Alternative Record Bind Option:
Bind one key only and take advantage of the automatic demo increment. This config will bind NUMPAD1 (kp_end) to toggle between record and stoprecord. Eg. the first demo saved will be demo0000.dm3 and when run again it uses demo0001.dm3. I couldn't find a way to let it use more useful names.

------------------------------------------------
//create a config with the following contents
set record1 "record; set recordtoggle vstr record2" //first line of code
set record2 "stoprecord; set recordtoggle vstr record1" //second line of code (looped back to line 1 to repeat)

set recordtoggle "record; set recordtoggle vstr record2" //iterator that runs the code initially set with first line

bind kp_end "vstr recordtoggle" //bind a key to the iterator

_________________________________________________
This tutorial will teach you how to enable console, and create demo recordings.

To enable console
In order to bring down the console to type commands while in a game, the console must be enabled first...
Launch game, then navigate your way to your Medal of Honor war room.

1.) Go to options
2.) Click on Advanced
3.) Make sure the console box on the right has an X in it.

Click Apply

Console is now enabled.
____________

How to Make a Demo for MOH:

When you're in a multiplayer game, you will need to open console, you can do this by pressing the ~ key, located left of the number 1, also shown here

To make your first recording type /record video.

When you're reading to stop recording, type /stoprecord into console.

To watch the demo you have just recorded, go in-game, open console and type /playdemo video.

The demo file can be found here: Program Files\EA Games\MOHAA\Main\Demos folder

Re: DEMO Guide

Bind the Start & Stop to make recording fast and simple:

Suggestion by AcE at www.PBBans.com HERE

Takes to long to open the console and type the record command, so.. bind the commands to keys so you can start/stop recording on a key press. Start the game, (no need to connect to a server) at the main menu drop the console and type these commands.

/bind x record (press enter)

/bind x stoprecord (press enter)

X = key of your choice not already bound to an in-game function.
