    Wal-Mart vs. The Morons

    1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart every hour of every day.

    2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

    3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

    4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target + Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

    5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world's largest private employer, and most speak English.

    6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the world.

    7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger and Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this
    in only fifteen years.

    8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.

    9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

    10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers,1,000 more than it had five years ago.

    11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

    12. 90% of all Americans live within 15 miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the folks who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians, EVERYONE!!

To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature

It is now official that the majority of you are corrupt morons:

    a. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years
to get it right and it is broke.

    b. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it
    right and it is broke.

    c. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right
    and it is broke.

    d. The War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right;
$1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the
poor" and they only want more.

    e. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years
to get it right and they are broke.

    f. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right
    and it is broke.

    g. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence
on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion
a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right
and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our
throats while overspending our tax dollars.

Someone please tell me what the HELL's wrong with all the people that run this country,I know what's wrong. We have lost our minds to "Political Correctness" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not get me wrong help is needed all over the world, I for one would love to be able to snap my fingers and help everyone but times are desprate and facts are facts.

We're "broke" & can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless, etc.,??

In the recent past, we have provided aid to Haiti, Chile , Turkey, Pakistan, and others .....Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income' receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour
Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$'s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!

We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without 'needed' meds, mentally ill without treatment, etc.,etc.

They have a 'Benefit' for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.

Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave 'US' the same support they give to other countries. Sad, isn't it?

    Mayham Thats All We Want!!

You left one thing out, and that is when making a purchase at Walmart one needs to look at where the product was made, then take a look at Chinese cities and just how massive their building boom is, like Shanghai and so many other cities that had next to nothing 15 years ago now has some of the world's most impressive architecture. Where did that money come from? Well the US of A, that's where. Pennies spent at Walmart, trillions upon trillions.

And that's a calculation I would love to see, just how much money we consumers are exporting via Walmart.

Their economic business plan is simple... sell very cheap items that people need (like milk) to get them to spend even more money of things they're not sure they need. But just because their business model is successful at fleecing our finances, i.e. if we export our money then there is literally no money to spend on other things that we make, doesn't mean they would be good at running the Post Office which, to be real, has too much competition to continue as it has, i.e. email. My mom, who's 86, still uses mail, while every other generation in her family uses email... that is simple math my friend.

To put our 'situation' in reality, so much has gone towards oil because of poor mpg performance, just look at Dubai which will have the 12 tallest buildings in the next 4 years, and currently does have the tallest... The US gave them our money to build by purchasing so much gasoline Basically we've exported our currency and have nothing left to spend on the necessities that you've pointed out.

The other part is what people consider living reasonably, as in 'my image' and how our culture has reinforced the notion that working in a factory for lower wages isn't worth even applying for. That and unions who sometimes insist on what was good in good times, that, in a 'today's situation' fail to compromise, like how our once massive steel industry dried up.

But in the end I do agree with your argument that in the US we do need more effort placed on what will help us in the long term versus narrow minded and short term political goals. Our infrastructure must be built for efficiency for the long term so that maintenance costs don't cripple us. Housing must be built with long term goals in mind to allow their use for more people versus 'letting them decay.' (A study was done that showed there are 3 times more vacant houses in America than there are homeless, but it didn't mention what state those dwellings were in). And just today was chatting with a taxi driver noticing that the roads were being torn up just after paving in order to work on utilities, and what a waste it was to pave the road in the first place. In the end, like in the road example, no significant change will occur until everyone including politicians and corporate America is on the same page, to make sound decisions based on the ramifications those decisions have on our future.

    Okay, I'm done.
