How long has this AntiCheat site been around?

What motivated the founders to, well, launch EvoSoft?

EvoSoft, was first designed in a earlier version of DFBHD. Version 1.2 to be exact, because cheaters were bad, he created EvoSoft as a learning application for him and to help stop cheats. This all took place 2 years ago. Now he has v1.5 supported for DFBHD, as he upgraded his ACP with new detection methods, graphics.

I have been trying to help out them by posting fixes to bugs or glitches. Also trying to find information out that could harm their ACP, and I PM them about it.

So from your point of view, EvoSoft is a solid alternative to Sigurd, especially in terms of trust which is the foundation to any Anti Cheat effort?

[img]http://EvoSoft started around 2 years back, by me. I was still trying to learn how to code, and I had the idea of making a Servermanager for BHD 1.2 versions, because the demand was so high. I failed and closed it down.

Then about a year later, someone on BHD 1.2 wanted to start a tournament. But what is a tournament without an anti-cheat? I went to think how can I make a small cheat detection tool. Nothing advanced came out really. There's a screenshot of it in this board somewhere. When the word spread that that tournament would have an anti-cheat the demand grown, and I decided to launch it under the EvoSoft name, together with some people by my side. So it went live around January 2009. It was discussed on Sigurd forums a couple of times, but it was still just a small cheat detection program and would never be useful on BHD 1.5.

Somewhere around June I launched the final update for the program, which allowed players to use it on both BHD 1.2 and BHD 1.5 versions. You might have already noticed the lobby becomes a mess when there's alot of people in it. That's because it never had more then a total of 200 registered users, and around 10 users maximum online.

BHD 1.5 already had Sigurd and cSense, and I believe there was another one at work aswell, but when they both closed down, that's when I decided to do a full re-write of the whole client, and add alot more cheat-detection methods, so that it would actually be useful. Recently Marc joined, and some old Sigurd staff, and they have really helped pushing this to the next level, and making it even better.

The main reason for this ACP for me is mostly like a learning thing. Im still learning new things everyday, and this project is part of it. That doesnt mean when Im done learning Im closing it down.

We started this so we're gonna give full 100% until we actually have a good program that everyone can use for free to keep their servers clean![/img]

I would agree with that, except Sigurd had many program compatibility errors and conflicts which caused you to get banned. As with EvoSoft, less complicated to run and more simple to use.
