Any ideas?
Hey guys. Just looking for some input on upgrading the main components of my rig eventually. This is what I currently have running which still runs well and allows me to play pretty much most games out there right now but I would like to upgrade my motherboard/processor to something a little faster at some point so if you have any suggestions on what is good but not too expensive I would appreciate it.
CPU
AMD Phenom II X4 955
Deneb 45nm Technology
RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 805MHz (9-9-9-2)
Motherboard
Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. GA-990FXA-UD5 (Socket M2)
Graphics
SyncMaster (1920x1080@60Hz)
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (EVGA)

I guess it all depends on what you like better really. If it were I, I would go witht he following :
At least an AMD 8 Core CPU and or Intel i7 6th Gen or better.
EVGA Motherboard to match for sure as they are built for Gaming as you know.
16Gig DDR4 dual channel. I still think dual channel is faster than single stick even at higher capacity.
EVGA Graphics, 4gig card. 1080 version. Long version of a card. The stubby versions aren't as fast in my opinion plus you need the cooling.
If you do build, I would be interested in the 960 :) Could work something out I'm sure.

Good suggestions. I will have to price that stuff out and see what I can do later this year or in the new year. My vid card I actually just upgraded from a 560 Ti so the jump to a 960 was a big one already although I would love a 1080 but those are still a bit pricey. The RAM I can probably do as well...it's just the major components that will be the costly ones.
Nice upgrade indeed there Victory!

Yeah wife and I stuck on EVGA 750 Ti's for now. One of these days we'll upgrade when $$ frees up from somewhere.
