Announced yesterday, there is a bit of an up-roar in the PC world as not having dedicated servers for Modern Warfare 2 could spell the end of so many things we enjoy doing, like having clan matches, making and applying mods and custom maps, like having clans in the first place....

Dear Friends,

I have just read and signed the online petition: "Dedicated Servers for CoD:MW2"

hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition
service, at:

I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might
agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider
signing yourself.

Best wishes, GreenBean

Well you might not know much about HackHunters (http://"http://www.hackhunters.com"), a little Anti Cheat community which has been around for a little over a year, with a policy of supporting other ACO efforts and leaving the banning to them... but things have change with the recent news surrounding Modern Warfare 2....

HackHunters is proud to announce its first ever ban...

Join HackHunters in making gaming better than ever by

banning Modern Warfare 2 from your game inventory!

;) peace all, GreenBean.

My IGN.com review: http://rr.ps3.ign.com/rrview/games/call_of_duty_modern_warfare_2/14281101/112900/

I'll probably get a horrible 'trust' rating if anyone reads it... not the best thing I've written but only had about 10 minutes to put it together...

here it is:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
MW2 fail
by GreenBeanHH

November 7, 2009 - Carrying on the tradition of COD4, MW2 brings us only slightly enhanced graphics along with a lot more bells and whistles. It's sure to have the same game pace as COD4, new maps of which they should of provided with COD4 and a story which is an extension of COD4. Beyond the fact that it is 'new', one can look at what they are taking away from all gamers, as console users will ultimately want to experience gaming on a PC in the future as they grow older, and enjoy the custom maps and modifications gamers have made to enhance the game.

In MW2 there will be none of that as a fundamental ingredient will be missing - dedicated servers. Initially console users will say 'so what, now PC users will play only the game that is provided like we do' but one can speculate as future computers will become more capable and cheaper, including starter computers, that games like MW2 will be easily run. Thus comes the question of why buy a console when I already have a computer. Given the variety of diverse gaming experiences one can enjoy on a PC it seems to me that we all should stand together to let Infinity Ward know that diversity is what makes life interesting and not conformity. That eventually console users will 'graduate' from their parents supplied console to a gaming rig of their own and when they do they'll want to join a clan, check out the hundreds of custom maps and modifications and extend the life of their game well beyond the routine of playing the same 6 maps over and over. If we don't make a stand now with what will surely sell millions of copies, the future of gaming will be limited forever, leaving your future without options.

Therefore you can count on your excitement dependent on waiting for the next title to be released as the last game you bought you got tired of in a couple of months, thus continuing a cycle of spending more money. Ultimately it's a strategy that's good for the developers, but bad for the gamer. Stand together and ban MW2 from your gaming library now to ensure the diversity of gaming in the future.
