There are some simple steps you as an Administrator (Admin) can take to make your server a place where gamers will want to come. By creating the right environment, gamers will know that you are making efforts on their behalf, like, a level playing field, no distractions from cheaters or flamers, a server that is maintained with a positive message, etc.

1) Use KilCam, give the visitor the opportunity to check things out.
2) Open spec to everyone with a minimum of at least 2 slots available. This is good for catching cheats and also good for allaying suspicions. It also shows every new guest that wanders onto your server that you have nothing to hide, i.e., clan members do not cheat.
3) Turn on Auto-Balance. Makes for even teams.
4) Run PB Streaming and other Anti-Cheat software to keep your server free of cheaters.
5) Use adminstrative tools to check quality of regular players like BG (Back Ground) checks.
6) Show that you've made legitimate bans in the past (dependant on how long you've been a clan) including banning people who use glitches for their advantage.
7) Have a ban appeal section in your forum.
8.) Become active in the AC community and display a message like 'This Clan Does Not Cheat' on your website.

You might also consider:
1) Encourage fair play and no domination by keeping teams skill-level even.
2) Encourage non-foul language by displaying messages and kicking those who use even foul abbreviations.
3) Encourage a positive gaming attitude with other messages like, 'welcome to xyz clan...'.
4) Warn against cheating, foul language, personal attacks.

All these components combine to make for a fun and healthy gaming environment, one which will attract new players. Servers that don't include many of these things seem like you're playing in a 'wild west' environment where cheaters, glitchers and loud mouths can ruin the fun for everyone.

Streaming something on top of PunkBuster is a must these days. Other AC services provide an extra layer of detection and recognize previously banned individuals with their MBL (Master Ban Lists). You can learn more about other AC's in our 'AC Directory and Info' board here: http://www.hackhunters.com/forum/index.php?board=10.0

If you have any questions, suggestions or comments, please feel free to post them.

Making a Great Clan

based on Moreno's lead, I found these 2 great websites which help Clan Admins build a great clan...

Both are full of great articles on the do's of making a strong clan. Be sure to read 'why clans fail' from the 'clan leaders bible' at atomic warrior.
