I've signed up on www.machinima.com in hopes of improving the quality of our videos, and thereby increasing our exposure. Anyone with suggestions please post them about how we can improve the quality of these vids.... story, camera work, music, background sounds/effects, voices, etc.

What's good about SitePal is that we can simply type in the text and sitepal gives us the choice of many voices which can be recorded and dubbed in.

One idea is to use COD4 or another game to use as the characters instead of the SitePal characters, what do you think? maybe a combination?

Here's some tutorials... several in the series that should help in understanding the scope of what can be accomplished:

Once you view this one, go to the YouTube page and click to view additional episodes.

I would use all the original characters. ;)

Here's some commands to remember using COD4, assuming you have access to your own server to make the movie;

necessary console commands to film in Call of Duty 4:
In multiplayer,
"/devmap mp_crossfire" (or any map you're going to film on.) Then, type
these commands:
sv_cheats 1 (activates cheats)
cg_drawhud 0 (deactivates HUD)
cg_drawgun 0 (hides gun)
cg_draw2d 0 (hides text, crosshairs, etc)

A good source of inspiration for animation... good story types and effect here.

here's an excellent example on many levels....

great intro, transitions, story, mood, humor, camera work, voices... then it become a frag movie after that with some 'hard to believe' kills.

Call of Duty 4:

COD4 Turbans In Time

and, if the movie really inspired you, make your own (and be sure to post an image): ;D
