How to change text on XFire Forum, Clan pages, etc.
Want to build a great looking XFire Clan Page
Here's a little tutorial about changing your Fonts so your message comes across clearly.
To Start, Click on your XFire Clan Page > Administration and under 'Edit Preferences' there is a description box which you can type in your text.

NOTE: THIS IS FOR XFire ONLY, Not HackHunters Forum.

This tutorial can be found on xfire's forum HERE (http://www.xfire.com/xf/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=186681) where you can see exactly how it looks on XFire's Forum.

You can build your own free XFire Clan website here: XFire Clans (http://www.xfire.com/clans/)

You can find HackHunters XFire Clan website HERE (http://www.xfire.com/clans/hackhunters)

TIP 1: Build a link into a name:
Start with the url: http://www.xfire.com
Put the URL into this form without the ****: [****url=http://www.xfire.com]XFire
Removing the **** you get this: XFire (http://www.xfire.com)

TIP 2: Change the font size (note: don't add 'PT' after the number):
Type this without the ****: [****size=24]BIG TYPE
Removing the **** you get this: BIG TYPE

TIP 3: To change the color of text:
Type this without the ****: [****color=blue]This Text is BLUE
Removing the **** you get this: This Text is BLUE
[****color=yellow]This Text is yellow = This Text is yellow
[****color=red]This Text is red = This Text is red
[****color=maroon]This Text is maroon = This Text is maroon
[****color=purple]This Text is purple = This Text is purple
[****color=green]This Text is green = This Text is green
[****color=teal]This Text is teal = This Text is teal
[****color=brown]This Text is brown = This Text is brown

TIP 4: Want to indent?:
Type this without the ***** for the text area you wish to indent.
[****list]this text
will eventually
look indented
Without the **** you get this:
this text
will eventually
look indented

It's that easy.

TIP 5: Adding images and GIF animations:
The width is fixed on the viewable description area. An image should not be any wider than 6.75" at 72 dpi. I would restrict the height as well to allow as much space available for text.
Type this without the ****: [****img]hosted image url here[/img]
Using a URL of my image and removing the **** you get this: http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn83/arc362/map1-final.gif (http://www.xfire.com/clans/hackhunters)

TIP 6: Combining Tags:
You can combine different tags to produce different results:
Type the following without the ****: [****b][****color=blue][****size=24]Bold, Blue & Big!
Removing the **** you get this:Bold, Blue & Big!

TIP 7: Adding a link to your sig:
Did you know you can have your sig or image link directly to your XFire clan site or another URL?
Type without the ****: [****url=http://www.xfire.com/clans/your clan name here/][****img] Your Image URL Here [/img]
Removing the **** and using my xife guild site and an image I have, you get this:
http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn83/arc362/hh_animationsmall.gif (http://www.xfire.com/clans/hackhunters) When you 'mouse over' the image the cursor changes, if you click on the spinning image, you will link to HackHunters XFire Guild site.

Hope these tips help you build a great XFire Clan Website.

NOTE: sometimes combinations tags do not work, if this is the case, try and rearrange the tags or start over as there might be a mis-typed instruction.
Keep in mind that XFire has a limit on how many characters one can add to the general description on the home page, adding tags will reduce the amount of text seen. On the other hand, it can help present your message clearly.

XFire: using it to make screen shots.

Xfire In-Game must be enabled to take screenshots.

First, create an account at http://www.xfire.com, download the software so that when your computer starts up you have an xfire control panel prelaunched and ready to go.

Go to your XFire Control Panel > Menu > Tools > Options > Chat > click on Screenshot Key Binding. Press these two keys at the same time: your Right Control Key and F12. F12 is the typically assigned key by game manufacturers to take in game screen shots. By adding the Right Control Key on your key board, it will make it easier to remember.

Get in the game and take a screen shot pressing Right Control Key and F12. Take as many SS's as you like. Quit the game and return to your desktop.

Once you quit the game, xfire automatically uploads your SS's. Your done.

Log onto the XFire website, go to your profile page and under your image click on Screen Shots.

You will have to take yet another screenshot of the xfire SS's in order to use them as the originals are kept on the xfire website. To do this, first look at your images full size by clicking on them within xfire, then:

Mac: press Shift, Apple, 3 and drag across the area you wish to capture, a Picture file will be saved on your desktop.
PC: instructions coming shortly....

That's it, now you have a usable jpg image of your game play for use in sigs, posting or even to make up an slideshow animation.

XFire: Video Recording Tutorial

DOWNLOAD XFire: Go here to download xfire if you don't already have it: http://www.xfire.com/downloads/ Click on the big yellow button near the top of the page.

With XFire running properly on your computer, go to the XFire Menu > Tools > Options.

Click on Video (Beta) tab to bring up the video settings window.

Do the following:

1) Check off: Enable Video Capture.

2) Video Capture Folder: C:\Program Files\Xfire\videos

3) Click on 'Video Capture Key Binding' and press 2 keys at the same time. I use 'I+U' as an example.

(Update message from XFire: Video capture in Xfire In-Game (Scroll Lock + V) is now enabled by default for everyone.)

4) Click on 'Full-Size' for Video Capture Options at 25 Frames per second. Yes this will make for large file sizes but when you upload them the pixel quality will be much better and then you can delete the video file from your computer's harddrive. You should only record a minute max with xfire until you get used to the file sizes and upload times.

5) Select Audio Capture Options: Audio Device. Note on Sound: XFire has some problems recording sound for some people. Under Audio Mixer, you should have the option of selecting Stereo Mix or Line Volumne. When I use these they don't work. As xfires says, this is a beta version.

6) Click on Record Sound.

7) Click on OK.

When in-game, click on your two bound keys, for me that's 'I & E'. You will see a recording symbol in the top left corner. When you want to stop recording, click on your two bound keys again. The recording symbol will disappear.

When you exit the game and have the xfire window up front, a message will appear saying that you have recorded a video. NOTE: usually I get 2 video recordings when I only record once, it's a glitch, possibly the sound file. The smaller recording can't be opened. The larger video is the file you need.

If you don't see a list of your videos in xfire, click on the left bottom button in the list for videos.

Double click on the video file and it should open and play.

Right click on the video file (in xfire list) and select 'upload'. It will take a few minutes depending on the file size.

Simply go to your xfire Profile page and you will see your videos. You can then copy the URL in order to post a link to your video page so others can see it.

Thanks for the suggestion Lil B_F
