Scroll down to find your game...

Screen Shots, commonly referred to SS or SS's, are a great way to capture that funny scene, your great score or something you think looks amazing. You can also use your SS as a base for sigs, to post in a forum and to just keep as a momento.

NOTE: Screen Shots can give HackHunters valuable information of a suspected cheater including the correct spelling of their name, their score, who else was on and, the server information. SS's are easy to email and upload to a website.

Screen Shots also give HackHunters the ability to see anything a suspected cheater might type. You'd be surprised how many times a cheater will admit to cheating and what they're using, combined with a demo, this can be powerful evidence.

In order to post your screen shots on a forum, you will need to find a server that will host the image. This is so the forum doesn't have to actually store hundreds or thousands of images themselves. Remember, these are public places and anyone, although unlikely, will be able to not only see your image but will also be able to use them.

A great free service is PhotoBucket http://www.hackhunters.com/16_links/logos_othersources/photobucket2.gif (http://photobucket.com/)
It's very easy to join, just click on the JOIN NOW button.

What is especially great about this service (and many services) is they provide the text you will need to post your image on a variety of websites like: Email & IM, Direct Link,, HTML Code and IMG code.

Other services include:

Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/)
ImageShack (http://imageshack.us/)
TinyPic (Images & Videos) (http://tinypic.com/)
Kodak Gallery (http://www.kodakgallery.com/Signin.jsp?redirect=yes&Upost_signin=MyGallery.jsp%3Fautologin%3Dtrue%26c% 3Db3_hom_sign_ret&UV=603953055226_65175460513)
Picture Trail (http://www.picturetrail.com/)
Slide (http://www.slide.com/)
PB Base (http://www.pbase.com/)

If you Google Search 'Photo Hosting' it will provide additional results.

Note: Use at your own risk. If a service is found to have obscene images hosted, let us know so that we can remove their link.

Any image you see posted on the web you can also use unless there is a copyright issue. Generally speaking, images related to gaming are available to everyone as the images are of the game itself and not something created by an individual or company. If you see an image you'd like to share quickly, just RIGHT CLICK on the image and select OPEN IMAGE IN NEW WINDOW, look at the top url that is displayed and copy it. Then, look at our instructions on how to POST AN IMAGE below. That's it, your newly found image will be displayed.

The only downside is that the image might be removed by the original user or even switched to something else.

So you have your image hosted (see green instructions) and now you want to post it in a forum thread.

OPTION 1: Generally speaking, you just add [****img] at the beginning of the images url and [/img] at the end leaving out the **** from the tag.

OPTION 2: When making a post (reply or new post) you type your text in a box... above this box are buttons that allow you to modify your text. Typically there is a button to add an image. You can 'mouse over' these buttons to see which one is for 'INSERT IMAGE'. When you click on it, it will either add [****img][/img] tags to your text box or bring up a dialogue window where you can type in the url of your image.

OPTION 3: If I go to my PhotoBucket page: http://s302.photobucket.com/albums/nn83/arc362/
All I have to do is click on the 'IMG CODE' and it copies the correct 'img' tag information as well:

The result, leaving out the **** produces this:

To check to see if in fact it is the same code minus the 'img' tags, just RIGHT CLICK on the image and select OPEN IMAGE IN NEW WINDOW, look at the top url that is displayed, they are the same.

REMINDER: all images end in either .jpg, .gif, .png, .bmp or other image format. Make sure at the end of your url one of these, and the correct one appears. Also, you should note that if there are any mistakes in the url the image will not display and you'll get something like this: http://i302.photobucket.com/alb. If this is the case, check and revise the url until it works. Sometimes I will just start over as there might be an extra space or extra bracket ]][ or something that is hard to see.

Americas Army

It is fairly easy to take a screenshot in Americas Army.
When you are in game (playing) and you want to take a screenshot, press F8. The screenshots you took are located (Default) in:

C:\Program Files\America's Army\ScreenShots and are numbered Shotxxxxx.bmp

whereas each x stands for a number, generated from 00000 through to 99999. You can move them whenever you want.

Punkbuster (PB) automatically takes a screenshot of you every x seconds, wheras x is a random number of seconds normally generated by the server. You can find those screenshots by going on the clans homepage (The clan that is hosting the server) and see if they have a public screenshot access. This is used to find cheaters.

XFire: using it to make screen shots.

Xfire In-Game must be enabled to take screenshots.

First, create an account at http://www.xfire.com, download the software so that when your computer starts up you have an xfire control panel prelaunched and ready to go.

Go to your XFire Control Panel > Menu > Tools > Options > Chat > click on Screenshot Key Binding. Press these two keys at the same time: your Right Control Key and F12. F12 is the typically assigned key by game manufacturers to take in game screen shots. By adding the Right Control Key on your key board, it will make it easier to remember.

Get in the game and take a screen shot pressing Right Control Key and F12. Take as many SS's as you like. Quit the game and return to your desktop.

Once you quit the game, xfire automatically uploads your SS's. Your done.

Log onto the XFire website, go to your profile page and under your image click on Screen Shots.

You will have to take yet another screenshot of the xfire SS's in order to use them as the originals are kept on the xfire website. To do this, first look at your images full size by clicking on them within xfire, then:

Mac: press Shift, Apple, 3 and drag across the area you wish to capture, a Picture file will be saved on your desktop.
PC: instructions coming shortly....

That's it, now you have a usable jpg image of your game play for use in sigs, posting or even to make up an slideshow animation.
You can find more help at xfire on Screenshots here: http://www.xfire.com/cms/xf_manual_screenshots/

Call of Duty 4 & COD2:
You have 2 options to take screenshots in COD4 which are:

press the (F12) key
or, go into console (~) and type "/screenshotjpeg" without the quotes, but lets face it, just press F12 and be done with it.

Location of Screen Shots on Computer:

C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4\main\shotxxxx.jpeg

Or, if you are in a modded server, it will be located in that mod folder C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4\mods\modname\screenshots\shotxxxxx.jpeg

C:\Program Files\Call of Duty 2\Call of Duty 2 Data\main\screenshots\shotxxxx.jpeg

Getting Black Screen Shots and people accusing you of cheating?

Try this out to fix it using RivaTuner V2.06:

new way to fix SS without rivatuner if you're using XP (not Vista)

Start/Run/ type regedit

Go To "Edit" "Find", search for _armyops.exe3DOGL_67207556 and delete it in your registry

here should be a couple of em...so hit find again when you delete the 1st one...
From paynetrayne-g here on ACI: http://www.anticheatinc.net/forums/showthread.php?t=43914

This 'trick' doesn't work for everyone.
Some ppl say there is no fix using these options:
fix it whit rivatuner
fix it whit nhange
fix it whit "remove the _amyops.exe3DOGL_67207556 in my registry"
and none of it helps.

Still I think it's important to try everything twice to make sure there are no mistakes.
