We suggest that you always scan any software you download before installing it. We're working hard and doing our best to promote only safe downloading sites but with potential viruses hiding everywhere, you should always do a scan first anyway.

In addition to this, when you download a setup, you might wanna scan it with one of these 2 (free) online services:

An online file scanner.

Welcome to the Virus.Org Malware scanning service, this service scans uploaded files with several common Anti-Virus tools to attempt to determine if the uploaded file is in fact some form of Malware.

Trying to find real good softwares is not that easy. I mean there is so many tools and stuff available on the Net than it's very complicated sometimes to take a decision.

In this post, I'll try to clarify some aspects regarding the wonderful world of tools. My intention is not to tell anyone you should buy this or that but simply to help ppl to determine what's their personal priorities and take best decisions as possible depending your budget.

On a side it's true to say some tools can be very useful if you have enough knowledge to determine what is safe and what is not. If it's not the case, maybe you'll have more problems after than before.

Generally tools concerning defragging are not problematic because it's simply a reorganization of the files and nothing is trashed during the process. It's far to be the same with a few "in depth" cleaner and any "fix registry" software so you have to be sure you won't delete important or critical informations. :'(

What are the softwares you really need to make sure your PC is well protected and giving you the best performances? In a world where tons of software developpers are trying to sell you different kind of tools to increase your PC speed and its average performances, it’s hard to make a choice. Especially because many of them have very good arguments to convinced you.

Keep in mind whatever you are an experienced or a beginner PC user, the real MUST to have tools are only the ones concerning SECURITY like an Antiviruses, a Firewall and an Antispyware. The rest will depends of what you're doing with your PC and your level of experience.

For example, using a tool to limit the softwares opening at the start up could be a good thing if you have no idea how to do this another way. A cleaner, if you know what you shouldn't clean could also be an interesting tool. When it comes to registry, the greatest care must be taken.

Downloading sites

To help you to understand better how the community offering softwares is working, here some infos about what you'll find on the NET:

1- Real freewares with no request for any kind of donation.

2- Freewares with request for volunteer donation to support the site / tool developper.

3- Freewares but you can download only if you registered on the site. No cost for registering and no cost to download the freewares they are offering.

4- Freewares but you can download only if you registered on the site. Depending the site, you have to pay for each download and / or you have to pay a specific amount every month.

5- Free download. A free download means only you have no charge for downloading the software, that's it. The software itself is not free. It's just a limited time software or a software with only a few options available. They are "partner" with the devollopers. That means they'll make $ only when you decide to buy a product after the evaluation period.

In my name and the HH crew,

Enjoy your surfing!
