PLAY ON GOOD SERVERS:
HackHunters wants and needs you to be part of the solution and here's what you can do:
1) Don't play on a server if you notice a certain person(s) always cheats (we are referring to obvious cheating that even the cheater doesn't deny) whenever they come on and they never get banned. This could be a sign that the clan itself has a hacker and that is why they're not being banned. If this is the case, report it to us immediately.
2) Play on servers that have both killcam on (optional by player whether to watch or respawn immediately) and spec on. Having spectator on is very important in rooting out cheats and servers who do not have it on could be hiding something.
3) Use XFire to find PB, killcam, spec supported servers. Play only on these servers as this will increase your chances of having fun and playing with others who are committed to creating a fair gaming environment.
IF YOU SUSPECT SOMEONE IS CHEATING:
1) If you suspect someone report it to the server’s administration with the player’s name, server IP, and time they played.
2) If you have SS and/or video, submit it to us (Report a Suspect) with the above information, we’ll add it to our database and look into your case. XFire is developing a great new video capture component which makes it easy to upload and share video. All you have to do is bind 2 keys on your keyboard to shoot some video. Be sure to try it out and become comfortable with its use.
3) Whatever you do, do not reveal your suspicions to the public. That means, do not post the individuals name in a public forum, instead use PM (private messages) and do not confront the individual during game play except to report it to an admin who is online, and if you do, ask the admin to come to spec so that your conversation will be private (depending on what game you're playing).
4) If you are playing a game and you suspect someone is cheating, stop playing, go to spec or go to another server. If you continue to play you are condoning the cheats methods. Do not be a part of a cheaters party.... leave.
5) Learn what it takes to be a good and fair admistrator and become a part of your clan's administration so that you can help catch cheats, submit their PBSS (Punk Buster Screen Shots) in order to get their name on a permanent ban list.

COMPUTER SETTINGS: How to: coming soon.
1) FRAME RATE: We recommend not allowing members of your clan or the public to set their frame rates above 125 fps (frames per second) as we feel this gives them an unfair advantage and can be construed as cheating. -HH-'s goal is to create fair gaming environments for everyone.
STRATEGIES FOR SUCCESS:
1) Shoot and scoot. Remember the person you just shot basically knows where you are at and will probably try and get you back.
2) Turn on your frame rate (fps = frames per second) and make sure it is at least above 30 fps. If it isn't, change your graphics settings.
3) Play on servers that give you a pretty good ping like below 70.
4) A moving target is easier to see than a stationary one. It should of been called: shoot, scoot, be still, scoot....
5) Move up. All team members should move up towards the center of the playing field to prevent the opposing team from gaining an advantage.
6) Protect your teams flanks. If you notice on radar that your entire team is on the left side of the map, go right. This will make the opposing team more cautious when they try and out-flank your team. They simply won't know where the bulk of your team is.
7) Be unpredictable. Don't always hide in the same old spots. Sometimes hide in odd locations, this will make the other team have to check everything before moving forward and slow their progress down. Don't always run down the same paths... most games have a left, right and center. Use them all.
8) If you're getting killed a lot, try changing tactics and weapons. If that doesn't work, change servers. If that doesn't work, take a break, it just might not be your gaming day... no big loss.

8) Use cover. Running up the center of a street will result in only one thing, you getting shot. Try and stay against buildings so that at least one side of you is protected and conversely you'll only have to scan one side.
9) Don't move your weapon side to side too much. Yes you have to look around but by holding your weapon steady you'll be able to see movement in the distance.
10) Out-flank your opponent. It's easier to shoot someone when they don't see you.
11) Be quiet. If only a few players are playing, sound can really travel and the opposing team will know which direction you are at giving them an advantage.
12) Use zoom. If available on your game, zoom in to look for any movement in the distance before you move in.
13) Coordinate and motivate your team. Using the in game voices you can help put a stop to the opposing teams advance.
14) Learn how to Melee (bash, rifle butt, knife, etc.) as it usually will get you out of a tight situation.
WHAT NOT TO DO:
Do not take advantage of loop-holes in the programming of a game which is commonly referred to as glitching, which can include the following:
1) TK'ng (Team Killing). It can happen to anyone, just say you're sorry if you TK someone. Never do it deliberately. We recommend servers use reflective damage as most people (the good ones) would rather die than to accidently kill someone, If you are a server that has FF (Friendly Fire) on, please use 'messaging' to warn people. If someone is deliberately killing teammates, please report their info to us.
2) Glitching corners to take advantage of a known exploit.
3) Going off map and then killing. Exploring is one thing but to take advantage of people when you are off the map is probably bannable. It may be bannable even if you don't kill someone, check with a server admin before you try it.
4) Spawn Killing. Not good sportsmanship so we don't recommend doing it. Just back up if you notice that your team is over-running the opposing teams spawn area.
5) Glitching of any means. Just don't do it or you may find yourself banned from a server.
6) Use of foul language. We do not think this shows good sportsmanship in a public place and recommend against it, including use of abbreviations as the meaning is clear, and, you may find yourself banned.
7) Don't take your frustration out on others. It is always better to cool off.
8) We do not particularily like consistantly dominating players. If you're having a lot of really great games, that means a lot of other people are not. We recommend lightening up and just goof around a bit to allow the other team to enjoy the game too.
9) Never Download a Hack. Why? There are hidden files that other AC (Anti-Cheat) services can detect. You will be banned even if you never actually used the hack. Besides, there are countless horror stories of viruses, instant universal bans, loss of CD Key information, etc.
A few suggestions to make your 'realistic server' and game more realistic:
1) Bunny Hopping or Jump Strafing allows an individual to jump further than normal. While this is acceptable in games like Quake (fictional) it can be frowned upon in games like Call of Duty (games that recreate a real conflict or are meant to be 'real-like'). Jumping once isn't hopping but if you always jump when you see someone then you could be considered a hopper. If you have a server and don't appreciate 'hoppers', then display a message to give people warning.
2) Jumping out from a corner to surprise someone or to make for a hard target to hit. This is a lag exploit.
3) Weapons: While we think it's okay to use all weapons offered by a game, some weapons are particularly unfair or unrealistic (if playing a realistic genre game like Call of Duty). For instance the use of martyrdom in COD4, as any reasonable person would agree the idea of being able to pull out a pin and drop a grenade after you've died is, well, unrealistic. If you don't appreciate this or other 'offered' weapons, just announce that players can't use them. |
